Golf tournament prizes work best when the award list is settled before anyone starts choosing products. First separate winners, on-course contests, raffles and player gifts. Then count recipients, decide which items need a name or sponsor mark, and give each group a packing instruction. That turns a loose prize idea into an order you can check.
Start with an award list, not a shopping list
A prize is earned or drawn; a player gift goes to everyone in the group you name. Treating them as one pool makes quantities and presentation hard to control. List each award category and the people who will receive it, including ties or multiple flights if your event uses them.
Translate the budget and recipient plan into configured golf gift sets, with a defined component list, packaging and quantity per set version.
| Group | Count from | Presentation to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Tournament winners | Teams, flights and placing | Named awards, shared or individual packs |
| On-course contests | Each contest and prize position | Separate winner labels |
| Raffle or auction | Prize lots | Complete bundle and display copy |
| Player gifts | Players and reserve packs | Identical pack-out and sponsor placement |
Match the prize to the moment
Winners and flight awards
A winner award should be recognizable when presented and useful afterward. A premium towel-and-accessory pack, a personalized bag accessory, or a gift box can carry the event identity. If the award needs an individual name, separate that artwork version from the general event design before asking for a quote. Trophies, vouchers and venue experiences can be planned alongside the accessory pack as separate organizer-sourced items.
Closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive contests
Keep contest prizes distinct from the overall winner award so the table and the announcement match. A marked box or sleeve can identify the contest without changing every accessory inside. Confirm whether the same prize is used for each division and whether a tie changes the quantity.
Raffles and auctions
The complete lot matters more than a long list of small objects. Pair accessories that make sense together, such as a towel, ball marker and divot tool, then check how the assembled set sits in its box or pouch. If a local business provides a voucher or experience, the organizer can add it to the lot after the physical pack is approved.

Keep player gifts separate from winner prizes
Player gifts often need far more units than winner awards. That makes them a different purchasing decision. An identical tee pack, towel or accessory set is easier to distribute at registration than a mix with unclear contents. See our tournament gift bag guide for complete player pack planning, or browse gift ideas if you are still selecting a product category. This guide stays focused on award allocation and presentation.
If registration gifts are being planned as a coordinated set, review the Custom Golf Tournament Player Pack for configurable product and packing options. Use the gift set configuration worksheet to list each proposed component, artwork version and quantity. Keep winner-only awards on separate lines so the quotation reflects the actual event plan.
Count every award and every SKU before requesting a quote
Build a simple quantity sheet with one line for each product version. Count complete sets as sets. At PASSEN, standard products generally start from 200 per SKU; logo, color or packaging customization starts from 500 per SKU. Small numbers of winner-only awards do not automatically meet a customization minimum. When only a few people need individual awards, ask us to quote a qualifying event-wide accessory program and source one-off plaques or vouchers separately, rather than assuming a few custom pieces can be produced.
If several awards use the same accessory but need different names, colors or sponsor artwork, describe each version. The quotation should state which versions are separate SKUs and what quantity applies to each. For a set, list every included component and the number of complete packed sets; a product mentioned elsewhere is not automatically included.
Approve sponsor artwork and the packed sample together
Ask for the artwork size, location and color on the actual surface. A sponsor mark that reads well on a flat file may be too fine for embroidery or too close to the edge of a small ball marker. Review the finished sample, including the box, label and any insert, before approving the run. For named awards, check spelling and award category against the final recipient list.
Also decide how the event team will receive and hand out the prizes. Label cartons by award group, keep winner packs separate from registration gifts, and include a count sheet that matches the purchase order. If the venue has a receiving window, provide its address and contact before shipment is booked.

Frequently asked questions
How many golf tournament prizes should we prepare?
Count each winner position, flight and on-course contest first. Add raffle lots and any reserve prizes separately. Player gifts should have their own count because they are handed to a different group.
Are player gifts the same as tournament prizes?
No. A player gift is given to the players you designate; a prize is awarded or drawn. Keeping the two lists separate makes quantities, labels and distribution easier to verify.
Can we order only a few personalized winner gifts?
A small winner group may be below the minimum for a custom production SKU. PASSEN generally starts from 200 per SKU for standard products and 500 per SKU for logo, color or packaging customization. Tell us the whole event quantity so we can review a suitable program.
Can one sponsor logo be used across several products?
Yes, if each application is reviewed for the product surface and decoration method. Provide the artwork file and show where it should appear on each item and package. Each product version still needs its own quoted quantity.
Should a raffle bundle include a gift box?
Only if you want one. State the complete contents and presentation format in the brief. Check the assembled sample so the accessories fit and the box label describes the lot accurately.
When should we confirm the prize artwork?
Confirm the artwork and packed sample before production. Provide the event date and delivery destination at the start so the proposed sample, production and shipping schedule can be reviewed together.
